Ryan O'Hern Therapy
Beyond Coping. Toward Wholeness. Somatic and Parts-Based Psychotherapy for Trauma, Anxiety, and Personal Growth.
About Ryan O'Hern Therapy
I'm Ryan O'Hern, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Wisconsin. I offer individual psychotherapy for adolescents (ages 12+) and adults through secure telehealth sessions. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in the understanding that our minds, bodies, emotions, and relationships are deeply interconnected. I specialize in somatic and parts-based psychotherapy, helping clients develop greater self-awareness, navigate difficult emotions, understand recurring patterns, and reconnect with their innate capacity for healing and growth.
I believe meaningful change involves more than managing symptoms. It often begins with curiosity about the deeper emotional, relational, and nervous system patterns shaping our experiences. Drawing from Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), mindfulness, and other evidence-based approaches, I create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore these patterns with compassion rather than criticism. My goal is to help you move beyond simply coping with life's challenges toward greater emotional freedom, authenticity, connection, and wholeness.
Therapy with me is a collaborative process rooted in curiosity, compassion, and genuine human connection. I believe that feeling safe, understood, and accepted creates the foundation for meaningful change. Together, we'll explore your experiences at a pace that respects your individual needs, developing a deeper understanding of the emotions, beliefs, and patterns shaping your life. Rather than approaching difficulties as problems to be fixed, we'll meet them with curiosity and compassion, discovering new possibilities for healing, self-acceptance, and growth. My intention is to create a space where you can show up authentically, reconnect with your inner resources, and move toward a greater sense of freedom, connection, and wholeness.
Therapeutic Services
Individual Psychotherapy
Compassionate, individualized therapy for adolescents (ages 12+) and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and emotional distress. Through secure telehealth sessions, we'll work collaboratively to understand your experiences, develop meaningful insights, strengthen emotional resilience, and create lasting change. Somatic and Parts-Based Therapy
A deeper, mind-body approach to healing that explores the emotional, relational, and nervous system patterns underlying distress. Integrating Somatic Experiencing-informed practices, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), this approach helps you develop greater awareness of your internal experiences, process difficult emotions, and transform patterns that may no longer serve you. The focus is on cultivating self-compassion, emotional regulation, and a greater sense of connection and wholeness.
Area of Focus
I support adolescents and adults navigating trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, ADHD, relationship and attachment difficulties, life transitions, and substance use concerns. My approach recognizes that these challenges are often interconnected and shaped by our experiences, relationships, and nervous system patterns. Together, we'll explore what's contributing to your difficulties while developing greater self-understanding, emotional resilience, and the capacity for meaningful change.
